New Delhi: A court here today will frame the additional charge of waging war against the state on accused Wasim Akram Malik in the 2011 blast at the Delhi High Court. The provision carries the death penalty.
According to sources, District Judge I S Mehta yesterday held an in-chamber hearing and said that he will frame against Malik the additional charge under Section 121 (waging war against the country) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Apart from the charge under section 121 of the IPC, the court today is also likely to frame charges under Sections 121A, 122 and 123 of the IPC against Malik.
Fifteen people were killed and 79 injured in the September 7, 2011 blast outside gate number five of the high court complex.
