Doha: The Qatari Armed Forces concluded in Qalayel Area the scheduled joint exercise codenamed Tareq 2014 between the Emiri Land Forces and the French forces.
The drill was attended by the Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Maj.-Gen. Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah, the Chief of Staff of the armed forces Flt. Maj. Gen. Ghanim bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, French Ambassador Jean-Christophe Peaucelle, the French military attache and other officials. The Tareq Bin Ziad Mechanized Battalion and France’s Infantry Company No. 152 took part in the exercise involvling live ammunitions shooting, 2000 Mirage aircraft and helicopter gunships. The drill aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchange of military know-how with friendly countries and boosting combat efficiency of participating forces. QNA
