Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday received a telephone call from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
The UN chief expressed thanks and appreciation to the Emir for Qatar’s efforts and vision to find a solution to the humanitarian crisis in Syria and efforts that resulted in the release of nuns of the Monastery of Saint Takla in the town of Maloula, and Syrian women from prisons. Talks also dealt with latest regional developments.
