DOHA: Finding him guilty of negligence that led to a colleague’s death, a criminal court has asked a construction worker to pay a fine of QR5,000 and pool in cash for blood money of QR200,000 payable by his insurance company to the deceased’s family.
The tragedy occurred in Old Airport Area on July 2, 2013.
The convict was charged with causing the death of the driver of a concrete mixing vehicle in an accident. He switched off the machine without alerting the driver and the huge iron container, filled with concrete mixture, hit him, leading to his instant death.
The court delivered the verdict in absentia of the convict.
