Seoul: Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada led Qatar’s delegation to the opening of the 7th World Water Forum in South Korea.
The forum is being held under the theme ‘Water for Our Future.’
Dr Al Sada attended a ministerial meeting, which began yesterday and continues until April 17, along with Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, President, Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa), and a delegation comprising officials from Kahramaa and the Ministry of Environment.
In his speech at the forum in his capacity as the Head of Arab Ministerial Water Council, Dr Al Sada underscored the importance of interconnections between water, energy and food, pointing to challenges facing the Arab countries, and solutions, opportunities and practical applications to cope with the impact of climate change in the water and agriculture sectors.
Every three years, the forum mobilises creativity, innovation and know-how related to water.
Serving as a stepping-stone towards global collaboration to cope with water challenges, the forum is a multistakeholder platform where the water community and policy and decisionmakers from all regions of the world work together to find joint solutions. It is the largest international event which seeks to advance the cause of water. QNA
