Doha: Taggart Shawn Larell fired 26 points to help El Jaish claimed a resounding 98-77 victory over Qatar Club at the Qatar Basketball Cup, yesterday at the Al Gharafa Stadium.
It appeared a mismatch as both teams competed, with El Jaish taking the commanding position right from the beginning. They led the first quarter 28-16 and led 56-34 till the match reached half-time.
They were leading the third quarter by 74-55 before sealing a comprehensive victory.
Apart from Larell, Macklin Vernon Leon was the other main scorer for the winning side with a tally of 20 points.
Later, Al Shamal also registered victory when they overcame Al Khor by 71-77.
Hunter Vincent Leron, who scored 23 points in the game was the star or the winning team.
White Malcom (19) and Kosar Al Kader (12) were the other main scorers.
But, Al Khor’s Coleman Shavon was the top scorer of match with 25 points. THE PENINSULA
