DOHA: Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) will hold an Open House on General Elections-2014 on Friday, when the ballots cast all over India would be counted and the results announced the same day. The Election Open House will be held at ICC premises (Street No 916, Wahab bin Omair Street, Al Mamoura, Doha) from 7am to 11.30am. Remarks by Sanjiv Arora, Ambassador of India and Patron of ICC will be at 9.30am.
Arrangements have been made to watch live counting of votes and online updates on large screens. All Indians invited with families and friends living in Doha are invited to attend the open house.
The counting of votes is the culmination of the largest democratic process undertaken anywhere in the world with an electorate of the size of nearly 815 million, and casting of ballots on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) spread over nine phases between April 7 and May12, directly elect 543 Members of Parliament in Lok Sabha (Lower House).
