DOHA: Swedish Minister for Trade Ewa Bjِrling will visit Doha tomorrow to open the Swedish Embassy. Dr Bjِrling will be accompanied by a Swedish business delegation.
“It is indeed an exciting time to open an embassy in Doha. Qatar is experiencing dynamic social and economic development and it is important that Sweden is represented on the ground to conduct political dialogue and promote Swedish exports,” says Dr Bjِrling.
The Embassy will focus on promoting Sweden in Qatar and assist Swedish companies in the expanding Qatari market.
An important task is also to promote Sweden as an attractive destination for long-term investments. Until now, Sweden’s diplomatic relations with Qatar have been handled by the embassy in Abu Dhabi. Swedish exports to Qatar are currently worth SEK 1.7bn (approximately $260bn).The Peninsula
