AMU Alumni Association in Qatar organises community Iftar

Doha: The Alumni Association of India’s Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) celebrated the AMU Alumni Qatar Community Iftar at Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park Doha.

The Iftar was attended by over 200 people including alumni, families and guests. This is the second time AMUAAQ organised their community Iftar in an open area similar to Alma mater (AMU) tradition.

Event was presided over by AMU Alumni President, Jawed Ahmad. AMUAAQ is a non-profit and sociocultural organisation committed to promote a sense of brotherhood and foster spirit of community wellness. 

The forum’s objective is to serve the educational, social, literary, sports and cultural needs of the community.

The Executive & Advisery Committee  of the AMU welcomed the alumni & their families and introduced the guests. Al Shaikh Mahmood Anani started the event and spoke about the importance of the holy month of Ramadan and Zakat. 

He mentioned that Ramadan is a wonderful opportunity to repent for sins and wrong doings. “We should take the momentum forward and work for the purity of soul and enhancement of Taqwa,” he added.

Dinner and tea were served after Fatoor & maghrib prayer. Appreciation certificates distributed to multi specialised free medical camp team along with AMUAAQ committee.
