Doha: Masraf Al Rayan, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), delivered an informational training session dedicated to World Environment Day 2022. Held under the slogan ‘Only One Earth’ on June 8, the session focused on living sustainably in harmony with nature and introduced participants to the key concepts of environmental preservation in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Commenting on the initiative, Fahad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Group CEO of Masraf Al Rayan said: “On occasion of this year’s World Environment Day, we have joined hands with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to inform and educate our staff on various environmental issues as well as the avenues available to us to work towards Qatar’s long-term sustainability ambitions”.

Exclusively dedicated to matters of environmental concern, ensuring that sustainable and climate-conscious practices are adopted across all sectors in Qatari society, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is a key partner to Masraf Al Rayan’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.

Eman Al Naemi, Head of Corporate Communication and Marketing noted: “Raising employee awareness of critical climate and environmental topics is a focal point of the Bank’s CSR contributions for the coming years. It is important to recognize that engaging all layers of society can lead to greener societies and more environmentally-conscious practices, which can ultimately support our national and global development goals”.

Following its commitment to sustainable innovation in the banking sector, Masraf Al Rayan prioritizes environmental protection on the road to a strong and diversified economy. Its World Environment Day session is the latest in a series of sustainability-focused initiatives, including the recent launch of Qatar’s first Shariah compliant Green Deposit and the introduction of a Sustainable Financing Framework (SSF).
