Doha: The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SCDL) yesterday held a ceremony at the Brazil 2014 Fan Zone at Katara in recognition of 350 workers and officials working with the panel on preparations for World Cup 2002 in Doha.
The ceremony was attended by workers of three companies involved in the projects of Wakrah Stadium and Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor City — Hamad Bin Khalid company, Amanah company and Bin Omran trading and contracting company — in addition to workers from many firms which provide the panel with services such as cleaning and catering — including ISC, Aamal Group and Asmakh company. The event included football-related activities and participating workers received gifts from the panel.
SCDL’s Workers Welfare Committee Chief Farah Al Muftah said, “Each worker here is an integral part of our society, which will make history by hosting the first World Cup in the Middle East.” QNA
