QNA

Muscat: Sultanate of Oman will host the 2nd Arab Forum for Environment (AFEN) on October 24 and 25 2023, under the theme “Together we Face Climate Challenges to Ensure Water and Food Security.” It is jointly organised by the League of Arab States, the UN Environment Program (UNEP) with the West Asia office and Oman’s Environment Agency.

The AFEN 2023 aims at offering a platform for dialogue between different partners, including policymakers, international and regional experts in the fields of environment, climate change and green economy.

The forum’s main objective is to offer a platform to exchange information and expertise in related environmental fields, identify possible cooperation partnerships between key players, and establish a regional dialogue to discuss the current state and prospects for environmental actions in the Arab region.

Participants will include ministers, high-level representatives from the public and private sectors, civil society, representatives of regional organisations, regional and national organisations, participants from the United Nations and experts concerned with environmental work.
