Freed ‘prisoners not yet home’

ISLAMABAD: None of the Afghan Taliban prisoners freed by Pakistan has returned home yet, said a Taliban source yesterday. Moreover, neither have the freed militants been handed over to the Afghan embassy in Islamabad nor to the country’s diplomatic missions in Pakistani provincial capitals. Islamabad released seven prisoners on Saturday to “facilitate the Afghan reconciliation process,” the Foreign Ministry said.

Fire breaks out in factory

Karachi: Fire broke out in a plastic factory in SITE area in Karachi, a fire brigade official said yesterday. A fire brigade and water tankers rushed to site and doused the blaze.
