DOHA: Some 36,800 marriages were solemnised in Qatar in the past 10 years (from 2004 until 2013) and at least 10,325 divorce certificates were issued in the same period, indicating that the rate of divorce is quite high.
Citing marriage and divorce statistics, Al Sharq reported yesterday that last year (2013), some 172 men took a second wife, whereas 191 divorced men and 193 widowers got remarried.
