Five tons of meat destroyed

DOHA: Inspectors from Al Rayyan Municipality seized and destroyed more than five tons of meat that was found unfit for human consumption in the month of August.
They destroyed some 1,938 food packets that were found unfit for human consumption and took 17 samples from different outlets and sent them for laboratory tests.
The inspectors conducted some 386 raids and prepared 188 violation reports and ordered temporary closure of two outlets that were found to have breached health and safety rules, local Arabic daily Al Watan reported.
