Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Social Development and Family launched the national "Digitally Aware Family" campaign on Sunday under the slogan "Their Protection, Your Responsibility," with the participation of 20 national entities.

The initiative aims to enhance digital safety awareness, empower families to protect their children, and promote the safe, balanced, and responsible use of modern technology while mitigating online risks.

This campaign is part of the Ministry of Social Development and Family's National Strategy for 2025-2030, themed "From Care to Empowerment," which seeks to strengthen family stability and cohesion, support adaptation to rapid technological shifts, and advance the human and social development pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.

HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Family Khalifa bin Issa Al Kubaisi emphasized that the campaign reflects Qatar's commitment to enabling families to navigate digital transformations with confidence and responsibility.

Digital safety is no longer merely a technical matter; it has evolved into a societal and family priority that directly affects child-rearing, mental health, privacy protection, and domestic stability, Al Kubaisi stated. With the pervasive presence of digital platforms in daily life, online experiences inevitably impact children's behavior, values, and well-being.

This highlights the role of every family in society as the first line of defense to instill Qatari societal values and national identity, HE added.

Al Kubaisi noted that effective protection relies on active awareness, continuous family dialogue, and balanced digital habits rather than total restriction alone, allowing youth to manage risks safely and seek assistance when required.

The campaign operates under the umbrella of the Digital Safety Committee for Children and Youth, which brings together relevant national entities within a collaborative framework to evaluate digital security trends, recommend policies, awareness initiatives, and coordinate institutional actions, as well as the measures, legislation, resources, and technical support across Qatar to ensure a safe digital environment, HE stated.

The initiative targets children, parents, social and psychological specialists, content creators, and family welfare organizations and has three main objectives: raising awareness among children and parents about digital risks and prevention methods; instilling safe and responsible behaviors when using the internet, social media platforms, games, and digital applications; and unifying national efforts and enhancing coordination among stakeholders and partners to ensure the delivery of consistent and impactful awareness messages.

The campaign delivers these objectives through three interconnected phases: Risk Awareness, Practical Protection, Responsibility & Reporting.

Coinciding with the campaign launch, the ministry launched the official eSafety portal (www.esafety.qa) as a unified digital platform providing immediate public access to educational guides, awareness materials, useful links, and diverse digital content.

The Ministry of Social Development and Family called on all families and community stakeholders to engage with the campaign and utilize the portal's resources to embed digital safety into everyday practice.
