DOHA: The Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) has decided to recall some controversial artworks that are on display at the Arab Museum of Modern Art (Mathaf) following  public  criticism, according to Al Sharq.
A video at the exhibition showing several chickens on fire as they hang against a wall has particularly shocked many in the Qatari community, who have expressed their anger and surprise through the social media.
The video is an artwork by Algerian-born French artist Adel Abdessemed. Titled ‘Printemps’, which means ‘spring’ in French, it explores violence with live chickens burning and screaming.
The exhibition titled L’âge d’Or (The Golden Age) will continue at Mathaf until January 5.
