Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received telephone calls from Khaled Meshaal, President of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement in Palestine (Hamas), and Dr Ismail Haniyah, Hamas’ Political Bureau Vice-President.
Both extended thanks and appreciation to the Emir for the support provided by Qatar during the international donor conference for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip in Cairo.
They also praised the stances of the Emir, the government and people of Qatar and continued support for the just cause of the Palestinian people.
The Emir said Qatar will continue to support the struggle and steadfastness of the Palestinian people to restore their national inalienable rights, primarily their right to establish an independent state on their national soil with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital on the basis of the two-state solution, in addition to the achievement of a just, lasting and comprehensive peace.
