Qatar bourse market capitalisation rises

DOHA: Qatar Exchange (QE) index declined 13.08 points or 0.13 percent yesterday to close at 10,389.96 points compared to the previous closing of  10,403.04 on Wednesday. On weekly basis, the index gained 32.63 points or 0.32 percent.
Trading value during previous week fell 20.30 percent to reach QR832.75m compared to QR1.04bn on a week ended on October 6. Trading volume decreased by 16.83 percent to reach 23.9 million shares, as against 28.7 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 19.01 percent, to reach 10,751 transactions as compared to 13,274 transactions. Market capitalisation rose by 0.27 percent to reach QR558bn previous week compared to QR556.6bn a week before.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 32.09 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 29.58 percent. Telecom sector accounted for 16.15 percent and Real Estate sector accounted for 8.65 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 27.62 percent of the total traded volume while Telecom sector accounted for 25.30 percent. Industries sector accounted for 18.84 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 15.08 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 30.74 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 19.39 percent. Telecom sector accounted for 17.56 percent and Real Estate sector accounted for 13.50 percent.
From the 44 listed companies 19 ended last week higher, while 23 fell and two unchanged.
Qatari Investors Group led traded value during this week accounted for 16.56 percent of the total traded value. Ooredoo accounted for 9.29 percent and QNB accounted for 7.86 percent. Yesterday, the volume of shares traded increased to 6.28 million from 2.97 million on Wednesday and the value of shares also increased to QR90.4m from QR95.4m on Wednesday.
From the 44 companies listed on QE, shares of 42 saw trading yesterday. From these 13 gained, 24 closed lower and five remained unchanged. Indices of five sectors ended in red and two remained ended in green yesterday.
QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.13 percent to 16,810.27 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index fell 0.08 to 3,901.41 points and QSE All Share Index dawn to 0.15 to 2,866.12 points.
