Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the humanitarian situation resulting from the Israeli-Palestinian escalation and the necessary efforts and steps to ensure a ceasefire in a phone call today.

According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency, Erdogan called on Western countries to take steps that would reduce the tension in Palestine and refrain from actions that do not serve peace.

The Turkish President expressed his rejection of human rights violations against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing Turkiye's efforts to deliver aid to civilians in Gaza, which has been under intense Israeli bombardment for the past 7 days.
