Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs will launch the fifth season of its cultural initiative, Nadwat Al Ummah (Nation’s Forum), on October 20, under the theme “Science and Faith: Foundations of Building and Pillars of Advancement,” exploring ways to strengthen the integration of scientific knowledge and faith in Islamic thought.
Organised by the ministry’s Department of Research and Islamic Studies, the forum will bring together a group of researchers, intellectuals and academics to examine the methodological foundations of integrating science and faith, their role in advancing intellectual inquiry and their contribution to civilisational development.
Director of the Department of Research and Islamic Studies Sheikh Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, said the forum would address the theme through three main areas, examining the relationship between Islamic revelation and scientific knowledge, the contribution of Islamic jurisprudence to contemporary intellectual development, and the methodological principles needed to achieve integration between science and faith.
The first session, titled “The Quran and Sunnah: Consolidating Principles and Laying the Foundations for Advancement,” will explore the role of integration between revelation and science in establishing the values underpinning civilisational progress.
It will also examine how the Quran and Sunnah contribute to reinforcing principles and laying the foundations for advancement.
