DOHA: Qatar’s defence forces have urged the public not to panic as a three-day training exercise is scheduled to begin today in different areas and streets of Doha, Qatar News Agency reports. The exercises will also involve troops from several friendly and ‘brotherly’ countries, the agency said.
Lekhwiya as well as the Civil Defence and military police will also have their vehicles operating in the exercises that last till Thursday. The public has been asked to take precautions presumably as the troop movements could cause traffic snarls. “The General Command of the Qatar’s Armed Forces has cautioned the public not to panic and called on them to cooperate in order to the facilitate the movement of troops,” QNA said.
