Doha: Ooredoo launched two new offers for its Ooredoo Mobile Money service. Customers who register and log-in to the Mobile Money service will instantly receive a one-time QR10 cash deposit in their mWallet, a press release issued by Ooredoo said ysterday.

In addition, customers who use the MoneyGram money transfer service to send money overseas can now do so for a fee of just QR1 to any of 196 countries around the world, with some of the best exchange rates in Qatar.

The two offers have been developed to provide even more incentives for people to enjoy the safety, security and convenience of Ooredoo Mobile Money. Over the course of 2013, Ooredoo Mobile Money has become one of the fastest-growing financial services in Qatar, and is proving particularly popular with the section of the community which doesn’t usually have access to banking services.

The Mobile Money service allows customers to set up their own six-digit secured passkey when they register. Customers can enter this PIN whenever accessing the OMM Menu, as an additional security measure to provide full peace of mind.

After registering and logging-in to the service, customers will have the bonus QR10 loaded onto their Mobile Money Wallet, where it can be used to top-up their Hala account (with 10 percent extra recharge), pay Ooredoo bills, send money locally to another mobile account or QNB account or send money overseas with MoneyGram.  With the new QR1 money transfer offer, Ooredoo is providing one of the most cost-effective ways to transfer money ever in Qatar. Customers can send money for collection at 310,000 local MoneyGram agents in 196 countries.
