Doha: Qatar Stars League (QSL) sides are looking to use this month’s international break to prepare themselves for the 11th round of the tournament, which resumes on November 29.
The QSL is on a break because the 2014 Gulf Cup of Nations kicks off in Riyadh today.
During this period, El Jaish will play newly-promoted side Al Shahaniya this Saturday and Al Arabi also plan to play two friendlies.
This pause in league competition gives the 14 QSL teams a chance to try out new tactics.
Al Arabi play their first friendly on November 18 and the second on November 23. Their opponents have yet to be announced.
Three key Al Arabi players will be missing becuase they are in Saudi Arabia, Boualem Khoukhi, Rajab Hamza and Abdualaziz Hatem. Ahmed Fathi will leave to join the national Olympic team.
El Jaish will not have the services of Sufian Ahmed, Abdul Rahman, Sam Rizk, Musab Mahmood, Majid Mohammed and Khaled Abdul Rauf.
El Jaish will also play a friendly against Al Ahli of Jeddah on November 21.
