
DOHA: Ooredoo yesterday announced several new appointments, including Dr Nasser Marafih as a member of the Board of Directors, who replaced Omer Abdulaziz Al Hamed Al Marwani; and Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani will be the new CEO of Ooredoo Group.
Dr Nasser, in his new role, will be an adviser to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ooredoo, Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani.
The telecom giant’s new Group CEO, Sheikh Saud bin Nasser will be succeeding Dr Nasser Marafih.
Changes also included other executive management members such as Waleed Al Sayed, who has been appointed as Ooredoo Group Deputy CEO and CEO of Ooredoo Qatar. Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi has replaced Waleed Al Sayed as Chief Operations Officer of Ooredoo Qatar.
Sheikh Abdulla, Ooredoo’s Chairman, said: “We offer our highest gratitude and thanks to Dr Nasser for his valuable contributions and efforts that he provided as CEO of the Group. His time in the role was characterised with persistence and hard work, and we look forward to benefit from his service and expertise at the Board.
