Doha, Qatar: Al Shaqab and Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) have signed a strategic partnership agreement, under which QIIB becomes the official sponsor of the Al Shaqab League.
The signing ceremony took place at Al Shaqab headquarters, where Al Shaqab was represented by Khalid Al Hitmi, Deputy CEO, while QIIB was represented by Jamal Abdullah Al-Jamal, Deputy CEO, in the presence of a number of officials from both organisations.
On the occasion of the signing, Al-Jamal stated:”Driven by our responsibility: toward our community and our nation, we are delighted to sign this agreement with Al Shaqab, which represents a remarkable legacy that we are proud of—an authentic part of our culture and identity, and a reflection of our aspiration to excel in sports and achieve global participation.

Al-Hetmi, said: “We are pleased at Al Shaqab to sign this agreement with Qatar International Islamic Bank, which reflects our deep belief in the importance of national partnerships in supporting the development of equestrian sports in Qatar. This sport represents an integral part of our heritage and culture, and embodies Al Shaqab’s vision to elevate equestrianism both locally and internationally.”
He added: “We highly value the support of Qatar International Islamic Bank for this journey, and through this partnership, we look forward to further strengthening the presence of Qatari equestrian sports on the international stage and empowering riders to achieve more successes worthy of Qatar’s distinguished position in the world of sports.”
The Al Shaqab League represents a valuable opportunity for riders of all levels and serves as a gateway for distinguished talents to the global arena.
Through competitive and challenging rounds, continuous training programs, and organizational experience comparable to the world’s top equestrian events, Al Shaqab consistently demonstrates its ability to nurture champions who achieve prominent accomplishments in the equestrian world.
Participation in the league is open to all members of Al Shaqab Equestrian Academy, as well as riders from outside Al Shaqab, with competitions conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), except for the introductory rounds.
The League will take place at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab across four main rounds with the first round set for November 14-15.
