Doha: The Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud presided over the cabinet’s regular weekly meeting held at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.
Following the meeting, Al Mahmoud announced the decisions of the Cabinet. The Cabinet considered topics tabled on the agenda as follow:
Took measures for issuing a draft law exempting Qatar Railways Company (Rail) from some provisions of expropriation and regulating its rights on some public and private properties after taking note of the recommendation of the Advisory Council in this respect.
The ministers also approved the following:
A draft law of the Cabinet concerning reformation of two panels for assessing real estates expropriated for public benefit and setting their functions and a draft law of the Cabinet reforming a central committee for grievances relating to real estates expropriated for the public benefit and setting its functions.
The Cabinet also approved that Qatar General Tourism Authority assumes the organisation of advertisements of the tourist and exhibitions’ activities, out of exemption of the powers set for the municipalities as per Law No. 1 of 2012 that regulates and controls the status of ads.
The Cabinet then approved the following:
A draft agreement on setting up a joint committee for economic, trade and technical cooperation between Qatar and Ukraine and a draft agreement on avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income between the Qatar and San Marino.
The Cabinet reviewed the following items and took relevant decisions:
A letter of the General Civil Aviation Authority on the 10th report relating to the outcomes of the national security for civil aviation; a memo of the Minister of Energy and Industry concerning the outcome of the 35th meeting of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee held in Riyadh in October and a memo of the Minister of Public Health who is also chairman of the Supreme Council of Health relating to the outcomes of the 59th session of the Middle East Regional Committee held in Cairo in October.
