Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has sent a cable of greetings to the President of the Republic of Kenya on the occasion of the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani has also sent a cable of greetings to the Kenyan leader.
Moroccan First Lady leaves Doha
Doha: HRH Princess Lalla Salma, wife of the Moroccan King, who is also the President of Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, left Doha last afternoon, wrapping a several days’ visit to Qatar. During the visit, Princess Lalla Salma attended the first session of the World Summit for Innovation in Health Care (WISH), which was inaugurated by H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) which concluded here on Wednesday.
Chief of Staff meets US official
Doha: The Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces H E Major General Ghanim bin Shaheen Al Ghanim met here with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Frank Rose. Talks dealt with issues of common interest. The meeting was attended by senior officers of the armed forces.

Beirut: The Qatar’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Hamad Al Marri has met with Chairman of the executive committee of the Lebanese Forces Party Dr Samir Geagea. They discussed the situation in Lebanon and the region as well as bilateral relations.
Qatar envoy in Cuba presents credentials
Havana: The Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes Mesa received the credentials of Rashid Mirza Al Mulla as Ambassador of Qatar to the Republic of Cuba during their meeting here yesterday.
