DOHA: The aviation sector in Qatar has been finalizing preparations for the celebrations of the Qatar National Day.

Qatar Airways, Doha International Airport, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Qatar Aeronautical College, and Gulf Helicopters have joined hands in past years and the result was a successful and growing industry.

The 5 key players of aviation in Qatar are celebrating the Qatar National Day together.

The two-day celebrations will commence on December 17th with an Official opening followed by series of traditional and authentic activities such as Arda show, falconry, face-painting for children, making of fishing baskets, and camels and horse shows.

The 18th of December, the day of the National Day, the celebrations will continue and will be open for the public.

Visitors will enjoy the genuine Qatari hospitality through traditional foods and drinks.

The increased success of the Qatari Aviation sector has been seen through a number of recent developments.

Qatar Airways, the state's national carrier, has become one of the most influential airlines on a global level, with an increasingly large fleet of aircrafts.

In addition, Doha International Airport has handled over 21 million passengers in 2012 only, and will handle an estimated 23.2 million passengers in 2013.

As it brings a source of pride to everyone in Qatar, the Qatar National Day has become the number one reason for celebrations among Qatari Nationals and residents. (QNA)
