DOHA: If you want to sell a property, gift or mortgage it, you need not go to the headquarters or a service centre of the Ministry of Justice for registration.
Instead, you can register and pay the fee from your home.
In a unique initiative, the ministry has launched a service whereby its employees will visit homes for signatures for transactions such as property sales and mortgages and gifting, among others.
The ministry says the idea is to reduce crowding by visitors at its headquarters and service centres, Al Sharq reported yesterday. The service is available for everyone eligible to avail it, including the elderly, people with special needs and the general public. With regard to the elderly and people with special needs, the team visiting them will not seek appointments. “They will visit the homes of the people concerned,” Al Sharq said, quoting Faisal Mohamed Saad, Head of the home visit team, as saying. To make the service available to ordinary people, prior appointment will be taken, but not more than 24 hours before a visit.
