Manchester United are set to exploit PSG’s delay in offering Edinson Cavani the contract he is demanding.
The French giants have offered the forward a new three-year bumper deal, but Cavani and his agent feel he deserves more.
Replacement for Zlatan?
The 29-year old is seen as a direct replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will remain at Old Trafford for one extra year.
Jose Mourinho has long been an admirer of Cavani and tried to lure him to Stamford Bridge during his second spell in charge.
Born finisher
The Uruguayan forward has been in sensational form, netting 14 goals in 14 matches in Ligue 1, and 22 in 21 in all competitions.
His sharp movement and clinical finishing, married with his instinct to be in the right place at the right time make him one of Europe’s hottest strikers.
The Daily Express are reporting that Mourinho could go in for Cavani in the Summer, with reports suggesting United are willing to spend upward of £30 million on the forward and propose a tantalising salary.
