DOHA: The Iranian authorities have announced new regulations on the entry and exit of foreign currencies to and from Iran, an official source at the Foreign Ministry's Consular Affairs Department stated.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the source explained that the new Iranian regulations set the amount of money allowed to enter the country up to 5000 US dollars, and the incoming passenger should fill in the currency declaration.

The exit of currency higher than the mentioned amount (5000 USD) requires a document that states the payment of the currency in cash, the source added. (QNA)
