Doha: The Leaders Development Centre under the office of the Minister of Interior has won an international accreditation certificate in the field of leadership and management from British Institute of Leadership and Management.
It held a ceremony to mark the occasion and honoured eight officers from the ministry who completed the assessment process of the young leadership at the ministry.
British Ambassador Nicholas Hopton, Brig. Hussain Hassan Al Jaber, Director, Human Resources Department at the ministry, Brig. Bader Al Ghanim, Director, the technical office of the Minister,  Col. Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, Director, Strategic Planning Department, and other officers from the ministry were present.
Brig. Al Ghanim thanked the concerned departments and officers who contributed for the success of the centre during the past years and praised the officers who assessed the young leadership of the ministry.
He said the centre is keen to take measures to lend credibility and quality to all procedures to comply with the standards followed by international institutions and specialised agencies.
“We coordinated with the institute to ensure that the procedures taken by the centre comply with international standards and implement measures to meet the requirements for accreditation, including the visit of a team from the institute to the centre to review its works and executed programmes and verify documents for the completion of accreditation standards and nomination forms for leadership and  quality assurance programmes and their content and goals,” he said.
He said in light of the review of all those models and work procedures, the institute granted the certificate, recognising the centre as one of the accredited international ones in the field of preparation and development of leaders and accreditation of development programmes and workshops carried out by the centre.
The accreditation qualifies the assessing officers at the ministry for the international licence as future leadership assessment officers.
