KABUL: At least 18 people were killed and 23 others were injured on Thursday when a passenger bus lost control and overturned in the eastern Afghan province of Ghanzi, police said.
"The passenger bus lost control and turned over along a road in Nuwroz Khil area of Qarabagh district at around 4 a.m. local time, leaving the casualties," head of traffic police in the province Abdullah Ahmadi told Afghan Bokhdi News Agency (BNA).
Ahmadi said the ill-fated bus was traveling from Kabul to southern Kandahahr province.
The official also blamed reckless driving for the incident, saying carelessness of the driver might lead to the bloody road accident. (QNA)
