Doha: Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee Board held yesterday its first meeting this year at the Emiri Diwan under the chairmanship of the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The committee approved the proposed site of the Lusail Stadium. It also made a comprehensive overview of the other stadiums sites.
The meeting was attended by H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir and the Deputy Chairman of the Committee as well as members of the panel.
The meeting reviewed the steps completed for technical projects for hosting the World Cup 2022 and the general plan for the projects in its first edition.
They also discussed details of consultancy tender project management of Al Wakrah Stadium, Al Wakra stadium design and the proposal for amending the scale of financial powers. The meeting also discussed a follow-up report of the security committee and another report by the national heritage committee as well as issues and topics related to the Committee’s tasks, projects and their preparations for the World Cup 2022.
