Doha: Qatar Career Fair (QCF) yesterday announced new data on education, employment, training and development opportunities across major economic sectors that will be available for Qataris during the fair from April 1 to 6.
According to the data, over 4,800 opportunities will be available in the education, health and sports sectors, followed by over 4,200 in the business and finance sector, over 3,600 in the government sector and 1,871 in the energy and industry sector respectively. In total, QCF 2013 is expected to have over 14,500 opportunities to help Qatari youth establish a career path.
The findings were compiled from data submitted by over 145 exhibitors who will be participating in QCF 2013. “As Qatar progresses towards a knowledge-based nation, a more competitive and diversified economic landscape is rapidly emerging. The data provided by QCF 2013 exhibitors substantiates this progression and demonstrates the commitment of Qatar’s leading organisations to uphold the human development pillar of our country’s national vision,” said Abdullah Al Mansoori, Executive Director, QCF.
In terms of education opportunities, over 2,100 programmes will be showcased by participating companies and government bodies, with over 1,300 in the education, health and sports sectors, over 340 in the business and finance sector, over 275 in the government sector and over 205 in the energy and industry sector.
Education opportunities provided by participating companies will enable Qataris to pursue their higher studies in specialised fields at world-class institutions and universities while working. Providing the right opportunities for Qataris and helping them align their education focus with their broader career goals is one of the key objectives of QCF. A total of 6,252 employment opportunities will also be available during the fair, with the business and finance sector estimated to have over 2,600 opportunities, followed by over 1,800 in the government sector, over 1,100 in the education, health and sports sector, and over 660 in the energy and industry sector.
According to the data, fresh graduates with outstanding high school and university qualifications or those with dynamic resumes will be eligible to apply for these opportunities. The findings also revealed that over 2,850 training opportunities will be made available for Qatari graduates during the fair.
