Doha: Director-General of the of the Cultural Village “Katara” Dr Khaled bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti met yesterday with Senegalese Minister Delegate and Head of the Economic Bureau Cheikh Diallo who visited Katara to discuss means of achieving cultural cooperation between the two sides.
Cheikh Diallo expressed his admiration for the cultural village as a tourist face for Qatar, stressing the importance of the opportunity made available for him to know Katara and exchange ideas in order to achieve cultural cooperation and also commended the efforts made by the village to serve all cultural realms.
The Senegalese minister also touched on all cultural, heritage and international events held in Senegal, which vary in their activities and interests to cover various arts, including painting, sculpture and poetry.
Dr Al Sulaiti said that Katara is always seeking to create a ground of cultural ties with the various peoples through these meetings which acquainte with a variety of events and activities from the different continents, noting that he had discussed with Cheikh Diallo the possibility of establishing effective joint activity in Katara. He added that cultural village hosted last year the Pan-African Festival which saw a large turnout.
