Doha: The DPS-Modern Indian School team claimed the 6th place in the Qatar Youth Science Forum Research Competition 2023 organised by the Qatar Youth Science Forum under the aegis of Hamad Bin Khalifa University recently.

Ajay Sharma Sambara and Aritra Ghosh of XII C, under the guidance of Avishek Jha, Head of Computer Science Department, designed the research poster on ‘Testing the efficiency of Carbon Multi-Walled Nanotubes’, an innovative approach towards the problem of purification of contaminated water.

The project allowed the team to think creatively to achieve the solution grounded on using carbon nanotubes. Striven by sustainable development, the carbon filters provide a great solution to water filtration and with development in technology, such filters and filtration systems may be used in the future.

“Our students gained a lot of knowledge and experience. They learnt to work as a team and a lot about the various technologies that were put forward and their applications to tackle the various problems on earth. They realised how to think out of the box to find sustainable solutions to the glaring issues of climate change, and pollution,” Principal Asna Nafees said.
