Doha: Qatar University (QU), represented by its Laboratory Animal Research Center (LARC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, organised a specialised research webinar on the ethical use of laboratory animals as part of its Animal Research Seminar Series.
The event brought together experts and professionals to address best practices, regulatory frameworks, and scientific considerations that enhance research quality and integrity.
The webinar focused on strengthening awareness of ethical standards and regulatory compliance in animal-based research, highlighting their critical role in advancing high-quality scientific outcomes. Participants engaged in a series of expert-led presentations covering recent legislative developments, research funding frameworks, animal welfare considerations, criteria for selecting appropriate animal models, and the scientific impact of sample size on research validity and reproducibility.
