Afghan soldier killed in blast

Kabul:  An Afghan national army soldier was killed following an explosion in the capital Kabul yesterday. Afghan Defence Ministry Spokesman Gen Zahir Azimi said the blast took place in Karte Naw area of Kabul city.
Gen. Azimi further added that an Afghan national army official was also injured following the blast, according to Khaama Press.
He said the blast took place as a result of a magnetic bomb planted in a vehicle of the Afghan national army.
In the meantime, head of the 8th district police department said at least two civilians including a woman and a child were also injured following the blast. No group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident. 
US drone kills 3 Taliban rebels
Islamabad: At least three suspected militants were killed following a US drone strike in Khyber tribal region yesterday, according to Pakistani security officials, 
The officials further added that a compound of the militants were targeted in Nazyan area at the bordering region between Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to the Khaama Press. Some vehicles of the militants were also destroyed following the attack, the officials said.
This was the first drone strike against the militants’ hideouts in the tribal region of Pakistan since the last airstrike which was carried out in December last year.
The last airstrike was carried out in the last week of December last year in North Waziristan which left at least four suspected militants dead.
