DOHA: People in Qatar may have a brief respite from the sandstorms lashing the country over the past one week, only to see a return of the winds on Sunday. The winds subsided by evening yesterday and normal weather conditions are expected to prevail during the weekend, according to the Meteorology Department.
However, the department has forecast yet another wave of dusty winds starting on Sunday which can cause a significant fall in visibility. The strong winds could continue until Tuesday.
The weather would continue to be dusty “with some clouds” today, despite the winds returning to normal levels.
The northwesterly winds are expected to blow at speeds ranging from 5 knots reaching 20 knots at times. Temperature would hover between 28 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius.
