Yangon: Three military personnel were killed when a small air force plane crashed in Myanmar on Tuesday, officials said.
The plane went down in a valley near the Yangon-Mandalay highway shortly after it took off from Taungngu airbase in the Bago region, 271 kilometres northeast of Yangon, the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services said.
The plane was on its way to Myeik in the southern Thanintharyi region, it said.
The cause of the plane crash was still being investigated.
In February, five people were killed when a small military plane crashed near the capital Nay Pyi Taw.
