Helicopter crash kills two soldiers in Algeria

Algeria: Two soldiers were killed and another one was injured as a military helicopter crashed overnight Tuesday in the Algerian province of Naama, some 700 km southwest of capital Algiers, local media reported.

A statement by the Algerian Defense Ministry said that during a reconnaissance mission last night in the framework of programmed training flights, a helicopter with three crew members of the Gendarmerie Nationale (national rural police force of Algeria) fell on the outskirts of the province of Naama, causing the death of two crew members and the third seriously injured.

The statement pointed out that an investigation was opened to find out the circumstances of the incident.
