Awqaf Ministry to launch ‘Obedience and Forgiveness’ programme at main mosque

Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf (endowments) and Islamic Affairs, is to open today after Tarweeh prayers its “Obedience and Forgiveness” programme at  Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab mosque, which is to run until the 14 of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

The programme, which is organised for the second year in a row, falls within the framework of the ministry’s message to promote Islamic values and consolidate the concepts and teachings of Islam.

The “Ramadan tent or Khaimah” to be held in the courtyard of the mosque, will include “the platform of honour” on which the ministry’s departments will display the services and programmes to citizens and residents.

This year’s programme will witness the launching of  new projects and services and honouring sheikhs, imams and preachers and guests of Qatar, the revealing the models of mosques in Qatar’s future as well as “partners in goodness” of ministries and institutions related to the work of the ministry.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee for the “Obedience and Forgiveness” programme, Nasser Yousef Al Sulaiti, said the programme which unites all the efforts of the ministry’s departments includes the religious activities and cultural awareness, and a special exhibition on the various activities of the departments in an innovative way.

Al Sulaiti referred to the continuation of the “partners goodness” with the ministries of interior and municipality as well as a number of institutions.

He explained that it will be through the activities of “Obedience and Forgiveness” for detection of the Ministry of projects, including, for example, the unveiling of the mosques in Qatar 2030 models, and revealing the most important foreign projects and the Rijeka Islamic centre in the Republic of Croatia, which was built by Qatar under the supervision of the ministry.QNA
