DOHA: Qatargas and ConocoPhillips have signed an Incident Assistance Agreement that will further enhance the Qatargas Response Management System.
The agreement will facilitate providing technical expertise to effectively respond to an emergency incident. The first and foremost goal of Qatargas is to operate safely. However, should an incident occur, Qatargas is prepared to rapidly and effectively respond to bring the incident under control to protect its people, assets, the environment, and the reputation of the company, its shareholders and the State of Qatar.
This agreement represents an important step to ensuring safety, recovery, stabilisation and business continuity of Qatargas’ operations in case of an emergency. The agreement enables reliable support, connectivity and interoperability, which are critical components in any emergency response collaboration.
“We are pleased to share our emergency response expertise with Qatargas’ highly trained emergency response organisation to support and reinforce an effective response in the unlikely event of an incident,” said Gary Sykes, President of ConocoPhillips Qatar.
