Hungarians lift giant cut-out hand and raise their hands in Budapest to protest against a perceived government crackdown on civil society following police raids on two Norway-backed NGOs. The government of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, re-elected in April, accused the organisations that help disburse grants from Norway — mostly for human rights, transparency and environmental projects — of political meddling and has launched an investigation in June. Norway and the organisations refute the claim that they have a political agenda.
