DOHA: Mowasalat will host the UITP Large Events Summit and Showcase at Qatar National Convention Centre from November 25 to 27 this year.
The summit, to be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport, will focus on the safety and security aspect for large events transportation. It aims to highlight the importance of public and mass transportation and its role as a key constituent for sustainable future mobility solutions attracting business opportunities, Mowasalat said yesterday.
The Ministry of Transport is taking several measures to achieve integrated multimodal transportation system that will stimulate trade, improve the flow of people and goods and encourage economic sustainability.
The Congress sessions will run on “Public Transport for Large Events” addressing current and future challenges and best practices for a sustained mobility. They will focus on safer and cleaner environment, enhanced quality of urban life, steady economic growth over the rising urban population and inflation.
Experts from world over will share their experiences and lessons learned from hosting large events including London Olympics, Brazil FIFA world Cup 2014, Korea Asian Olympics 2014,
