Doha: The Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center organised a variety of educational programmes aimed at raising awareness and educating non-Arabic speaking expatriate communities on different aspects of Islamic and Qatari culture.
These initiatives included an introductory tour of the Center’s headquarters for the French-speaking community, a Mosque Tourism programme at the Ibrahim Al-Khalil Mosque in the West Bay (Al-Dafna) area, and a religious programme for the Malayalam-speaking Muslim community centred on the love of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The Center hosted an educational tour for 16 members of the French-speaking community. The attendees toured the Center’s various facilities, learning about different aspects of Qatari and Islamic culture, with which they engaged enthusiastically.
They were particularly impressed by the virtual reality (VR) exhibition and the diverse concepts it presented.
In a related development, the Center conducted its Mosque Tourism programme at the Ibrahim Al-Khalil Mosque for 23 members of the Western expatriate community. The visitors were introduced to the mosque’s architectural elements, Islamic design, the various religious rituals performed within it, and its vital role in the community. Furthermore, the Center organised a religious lecture for the Malayalam-speaking Muslim community, which drew an audience of 650 people.
The speaker highlighted the core aspects of loving the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), explaining that loving the Prophet is a fundamental pillar of faith and one of its strongest bonds.
He emphasised that a believer’s faith remains incomplete until they love the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than themselves, their family, their children, and all of mankind.
The speaker also stressed that one’s desires must align with the teachings and guidance of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), as adhering to his guidance leads to complete righteousness.
He concluded by noting that the Prophet (peace be upon him) is the ultimate beacon of exemplary character, which distinguishes and defines a Muslim.
