DOHA: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has signed an agreement with Mowasalat to support the first UITP Mena Public Transport and Large Events Summit to be held here on November 6 and 7.
Mowasalat in collaboration with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), is organising the summit, which will focus on intelligent transport solutions and preparations for large events.
QOC will be the “diamond sponsor” of conference. “As we progress to align with the Qatar National Vision 2030, it is imperative to involve and learn about other government strategies to evolve our sustained growth strategies, conserve energy and protect environment with new effective technologies, interact with regional and international experts and build relationships with key stakeholders in the industry,” Mowasalat’s Strategy and Business Development Director Nasser Al Khanji said at a press conference on Thursday.
The QOC’s Assistant Secretary-General For Administrative Support Meshaal Nasser Al Khalifa expressed his confidence in the organisers saying the summit will bring together transport experts and professionals to share knowledge and expertise.
Abdulla Naser, Head of UITP Mena said UITP is the global network of over 3,400 public transport professionals from more than 92 countries. It represents urban and regional passenger transport operators and authorities and the supplying and service industry, as well as a broad range of other mobility actors.
