ujumbura: At least seven people have been killed in shootings and a grenade attack on Tuesday in Bujumbura, Burundi's capital, police and local people said.
Two police officers and a cameraman Christophe Nkezabahizi along with his wife and two children were among the dead, said local people of the Ngagara neighbourhood in Bujumbura in which is also known as a stronghold for pro oppositions.
"Police found him [Christophe] with his whole family at home (and) killed him alongside other people who were fleeing shootings," a neighbour and his colleague was quoted by TRT World as saying.
Another Ngagara resident said the two police officers lost his life during the grenade attack. Afterwards, police shot dead the attackers in reaction to the scene.
